Vehicles 2015
Here are the vehicles and tracks that are currently at use:
The Worm: Once again, the worm strikes back. In this year, a vehicle created out of two PVC tubes and a K'Nex Motor crawls along a ridged, wooden beam. The ridges are slanted in one direction, allowing the vehicle to move in only one direction. The worm may be slow, but he represents our SRS pride!
The Tumbleweed: The "modified wheel" that helped us get our Ranatra Fusca two years ago. With its unique spokes and fast run time, the tumbleweed races down a styrofoam track.
The Copper Sloth- A specialized walking/crawling vehicle that draws its power from the track itself. Copper tape connects the track to a switch and a power source, allowing the vehicle to draw energy from the track. The vehicle's climbing/ walking locomotion is cool all by itself. Additionally, this vehicle can change direction and stop in the middle of a run! The Copper Sloth can be used on two types of tracks.
